LaVona's dessert at Old Country Buffet tonight where everyone was talking about Joe Mauer's $184 million contract with the Twins and not a word about the passage of the health care bill.

Randall's wheelbarrow was filled to the brim with water yesterday. I asked him if it was all snowmelt and rain water and he said it was. This morning I went over there to take its picture and the water was gone, but there was ice on the ground.

I found a backpack tucked behind playground equipment at Eastman Park. LaVona dried the contents which were soaked from several days of rain, found social service and medical papers with enough information to start a search--police, detox, Salvation Army and other homeless shelters. No trace of him so far. We'll continue the search tomorrow when public agencies are open. Here's what's in the backpack:
Top left (from left to right): Soap, perfumed body lotion, tooth paste, tooth brush, 2 razors, pen, crackers, oatmeal bar
Second from top: 3 pairs socks, general assistance medical insurance and social service papers, prescription for high blood pressure, undershirt
Third row from top: Towel, cap, gloves, head band, 3 pants
Bottom: Scarf
He's 48, pants size 30 X 28.
