Thirty-some years ago several professsors at local colleges organized a Friday colloquium called P.O.E.T.S.* to hear experts on political and philosophical issues of the day. It has continued uninterrupted but membership has shrunk and its boisterous behavior moderated in tune with its aging. Today we watched a David Attenborough video about songbirds.
